Birmingham, Ala. - April 30, 2009 – Bright House Networks recently announced the winners of their “Bright Futures Teacher Classroom Grant” program. The program, launched in January of this year, is designed to be an on-going program that assists teachers in acquiring classroom tools and resources. Grants are available to educators who teach K-12 curriculum at schools located within the Bright House Networks service area. Recipients are awarded up to $500 to assist their efforts to move students forward to a bright future through educational learning.
Teachers are asked to use some form of creative teaching including web based instruction, on-line research, or Cable in the Classroom focused material in instruction to be considered for the grants. Teachers are then required to submit an application including a project summary. Once projects are evaluated and winners determined, Bright House Networks will purchase needed items to further assist the teachers enhance the learning experience of the students.
“We are excited to provide the additional resources for the teachers that inspire today’s students” states Karen Broach, President Bright House Networks, Birmingham Division. “We are aware of the financial picture surrounding our educational budgets in our school systems. We are proud to be able to make these grants available to fill the potential loss of classroom resources. We plan to purchase items like scanners, printers, digital cameras, and related software.”
