Important Online Security Alert

Road Runner subscribers have reported receiving fraudulent emails requesting personal billing information as it relates to their Road Runner accounts.  These emails are not from Road Runner or Bright House Networks.

The fraudulent email in question appears to be from Road Runner, with the subject line, "Notification!"  The bogus email claims that there was a problem processing billing information for the month of November, 2007.  The email then asks for the customer to verify their personal information by clicking a link to an online form page (designed to look like a legitimate Road Runner Web page), or risk having service suspended.  That page requests personal information such as customer name, email address and password, bank account and credit card details.

This email is not a legitimate communication from Bright House Networks or Road Runner.  Bright House Networks and Road Runner remind you that we do not ask any customer to verify any type of personal information via email.

If you receive an email such as the one described above, do not provide any personal or billing information.  You can report this fraudulent email by forwarding a copy of the email, including its Internet headers, to spamblock@security.rr.com.
